Water Quality Modelling - Stochastic and Deterministic
Receiving water quality impacts from point and
non-point sources can be determined through the use of deterministic
and/or stochastic (risk-based) computer models.
Stochastic models tend to provide information
on the probability of an event occurring in addition to water quality,
thus providing a real life management method for river catchments.
This is currently utilised as the preferred method in Europe, America
and South Africa.
Stass Environmental have developed and used numerous
water quality modelling techniques to aid industry and authorities
alike in the maintenance of a correct balance between environmental
compliance and economic benefit.
